Sayma Afroj, Ph.D. is an ORISE postdoctoral fellow at Food and Drug Administration. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Auburn University, Alabama, USA. Her undergraduate and master's degrees were in microbiology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is Currently working on next generation sequencing based bioassay development for enhanced detection of viruses and adventitious agents to ensure safety and high-quality of cell therapy products. When she has free time, she enjoys cooking and exploring delicious food at different restaurants, travelling and spending quality time with friends and family.
